Sad tears...check.

What a year. I don't know what to say about yesterdays loss, really. I do think that Minnesota is a better team than the Saints. There were many times we should have scored, but instead gave the ball away. There were calls against Minnesota, and calls for the Saints that were not fair. But that's football I guess. I'm sad. I, along with many other Vikings fans, thought this was our year. I guess we'll see what next year brings. I can only hope that Favre wants at least one more year...but even at that, can he keep up with another game played as well as yesterday's? I don't think so. Maybe we'll draft a worthy qb? Maybe Favre has taught Jackson all he needs to know...Although I don't think it'd help. Who knows what next year will bring. I just really wish it happened this year. :(

At least they kept up. They played hard. It was a good game, minus the ending--some of the calls--Favre's decision to throw that ball, instead of run 5 yards--and the turnovers.

Addiction.

I wish we'd hurry up and beat Super Mario on the Wii so I could start blogging again!! There hasn't really been a ton going on though too, so I'm not totally slackin!

The Vikings have made it to the NFC title game!!!!!! I get chills whenever I type or say that.

I also get tears and chills when I watch this video clip of Favre. I love that they are so happy!! Their hard work is finally starting to pay off. What a great year this has been!

GO VIKES!! Get them Saints!

Random Tuesday.

So, after a million and two "Yes's." "No's. "I'm retiring...for the third time." "Blah, blah, blah's." We finally have a solid answer.

BRETT FREEKIN FAVRE has signed with Minnesota!! As a Minnesota fan, I couldn't be any more excited about it. I mean yeah, the media annoyed the crap out of me and I'm sure everyone else with all of his indecisiveness and I kind of wish he would just come out and say I am going to retire. And actually do it. Or say I wanna keep playing, and actually keep playing. But, that is neither here nor there now. He is with us, officially signed for 12 million a year...How would that be?? I am so excited to see him on my team this year! I think he has a TON of pointers and tips he can hook young Jackson with to make him the best. We'll see what happens. Here's to hoping he doesn't get hurt and doesnt add to his INT record!!

Yay Favre!!

In other news, I'm looking at buying a house again. It kinda fell through last time because it's obviously a HUGE move to make. I didn't feel confident that I would be able to afford it, blah, blah..but now I'm pretty confident. I have spoken with a few lenders, I have been pre-approved for an amount and we're hoping to be in a place by the end of the year. Hoping. That's really all I am going to say about it. It is a process that seriously changes every 2 minutes. One minute it is this house, the next minute I love the next house, the next minute my realtor is calling me with some more listings, the next minute we are driving from one end of town to the other. It is frustrating. I don't like looking at a house, falling in love with it, and then finding out that they apparently love it just as much...just enough that they'd like to charge an arm, a leg, and my firstborn child for it. It's frustrating driving SO much looking at all of these places hearing "Well, it's your first place..." I'm really picky and it's making the process rather difficult...but I'm pulling through and deep down, there is a part of me that is pretty excited about it all I mean, I don't know what's more exciting than to know that possibly by the end of this year, I will no longer be renting and helping people pay off their own homes, but I will be paying my mortgage...and helping myself pay off my own home. Just for poos and giggles, simply because this will change as soon as I publish this post...here is what I am really liking right now...

P.S- I not only like it...it is totally in my price range!! :)

I can run faster than you can...

In case I ever forget this story...I have passed it on along the way and there are about 15+ people who could remind me, and I don't think they would miss a detail.

But, just in case they forget the story too, there will always be record of it. Right here.

Why?

Because it's freekin. hilarious.

Alright, so, back in the day...Some friends (Lexie and Lysha) and I decided to go on our very first road trip with out the parents!! We were stoked!! We were going to be going to Boise, Idaho for the boys state basketball game. We called and got reservations for a hotel downtown and we were on our way!

We went up there on a Friday and the state game was going to be Saturday morning, so we had the night to do whatever we wanted!! Our fantastic plan (as most 17 year olds would enjoy) was to go down to the weight room/pool and hang out and check out the boys.

We get to the weight room and are in luck! Not only are there boys in the hot tub, but the hot tub and weight room are side by side, with only a glass wall seperating them.

Turns out, the 'boys' were checkin me out. In a way you wouldn't imagine.

I hop on the treadmill and start pressing buttons. I saw the 'safety belt' but seriously...what 17 year old, with intentions on picking up some guys would wear the safety belt, on a treadmill??

My friends all hop on other equipment and I continue to press buttons. Nothing is happening. I increase the speed over and over...still nothing.

All of a sudden...something starts happening. The treadmill is rapidly increasing speed. I'm assuming maybe it froze up and conveniently remembered how many times I had pressed the "faster" button.

Thank GOD that particular treadmill maxed out at 12mph, because I sure as shit ran 12mph. There was no stopping the treadmill...

Oh, and the safety belt? It was dangling right in front of me. Teasing me.

I couldn't do anything because I was going to fast. I couldn't talk. I couldn't release the death grip I had on the sides of the treadmill to simply turn down the speed...or press the emergency stop button. It was hard enough to keep up on the treadmill. I just happened to be wearing flip flops, which was definitely not helping the matter. I also had on a nice, warm hoodie. It was definitely keeping me warm, although I don't think I needed the sweater to stay warm.

My friends start to notice that the treadmill is going super fast and at first think I am just messin around and am in 100% control. Alysha, laughing her head off, looks over and says "Jess!!! You're gunna go through the wall!!" In my head (because I can't say anything out loud) I am thinking um YEAH...get your ass over here and stop it before I do!!!

I think Lexie could finally tell by my facial expressions and lack of words that I needed her to come and stop the thing! She calmly says.."Are you okay?" "Do you need me to come and stop it for you haha?"

I say nothing but hope that my face is stating the obvious.

She slowly stops her treadmill, slowly walks over and slowly presses the "slow down" button. I then had the joy of running 11.5, 11, 10.5, 10, 9.5, 9 mph...etc...all the way down to 0. Why she didn't just press the STOP emergency button? I don't know. At least she was there to save my life. What a peach.

Coming out of this experience, I am pretty confident I know what it feels like to walk on clouds...it's hard to explain, but walking was just so...easy...after having run 12 mph for a few minutes, it literally felt like I was walking on clouds.

Those boys were sure in for a treat. What a great show I put on, how nice of me. :)

Pickyness...

I'm not sure if "Pickyness" is a word, and if so I'm not sure if I spelled it right but it fits so perfectly that I must use it.

I, once again, have looked through every layout on thecutestblogontheblock.com as well as delightful dots and I just cant find the one I'm looking for. I loved my blue and orange one but it didn't seem very spring or summery so I have been in search for one that does seem spring and summery. This is the one I am going to go with for now but I dont know how much I like it. It could change very soon! (Definitely around July because they have some SUPER cute ones for the 4th!!)

In other news, lately I've felt like there is something missing in my life. I feel this every single day when I wake up, non-refreshed. Today I figured it out. I really, really, REALLY need football season to hurry up and come. I can't use my Saturdays to be excited that my boys play the next day. I can't watch ANY football on Sunday and I'm having serious withdrawals. I can't look up highlights from the games on Monday and I cant be excited to go home Monday night so I can watch Monday night football at home, on my own TV. Most importantly, I can't talk crap show excitement that the Vikings won. I can't spend a day during the week to pick which teams I think will win and which teams will lose and on top of that, I can't brag about the fact that all most of the teams I picked to win/lose actually won/lost like I said they would. I have figured out that this missing portion is consuming at least half of my week. I vote for a longer football season, shorter break. Any seconds? C'mon...they make millions. They can tough it out.

Poker time

So, Trav and I have been on a poker kick lately. It's been really fun! We are both so competitive so it's fun for us to get out and play some poker. Last night Trav didnt really feel like going, so I went by myself (No, I am not addicted. It is free and fun:)) How it works is they will start out with 6 or 7 tables...depending on the night...and then as people get out, they move andbreak everyone down until they get to one, MAIN table. Usually, when we play we make it to the last 2 or 3 tables. One time I got 7th place overall :)...that's right...THE MAIN TABLE! Anyway so once enough people get out, they have what is called a "side table." The winner of the side table gets to then move back into the main and they will give you the average number of chips everyone has so you are not like WAY behind. The second place winner of the table gets a bar tab which is so sweet because they have homeade pizza and it is fantastic :) (I've won the bar tab as well)

K, so now you understand fully what is going on here is the story!

Last night, I am sitting at the side table (It was actually the third one of the night because I stayed in the main for so long!!) and the FIRST HAND I am dealt pocket 4's.

BAM. Pocket 4's.

--On a sidetable people get craaasssie. At least one person goes all in per hand so if you win a hand, it's really good. So, I'm here with my pocket fours. Blinds were one and two, so I pay my two. Someone raises to 8 total. I figure what the hell...I might as well call it. So, I match their 8. We see the flop.

BAM! The flop.

He checks. Okay...free card. I'm at two pair. Pretty good. Two really low pairs, but still good. Maybe I'll get a boat.

The turn comes.

He bets 1200. I'm already in it. I'm sitting with two pair. He usually calls and bets crazy stuff. I got this.

Here's the river!

He goes all in. I HAVE to call. I've got the boat! Thank God...This is a HUGE pot!!
I call and push all of my chips forward.
We show.
His hand- 10, 2.
My hand- 4's.
WE. BOTH. HAD. THE. BOAT. Only...he had the 10's. I lost the FIRST hand with a full house!!! Crap, crap, crappppy!

THEY DID IT!!

This weekend was a very important one when it comes to football!! The Minnesota Vikings needed a win against the Giants -OR- the Bears needed to lose against the Texans. Well, guess what happened?? BOTH OF THEM!! The Vikings score was 20-19! Longwell kicked a field goal during the last couple of seconds for the win by ONE POINT! By the time he was kicking the field goal, we already knew the Bears had lost, which meant...the Vikings CLINCHED THE DIVISION and we are in the playoffs!!! How nice was it though to end with a win against the Giants? So freakin nice! Our poor neighbors, I am sure they hear us every Sunday! The vikings have not won their division since 2000. It has been 8 years!! It's about time! We play the Eagles next week at the dome. First game of the playoffs :) Here we come!!

P.S. A LOT of people ask Trav and I if we liked different teams when we met and the answer is no! As crazy as it seems, we were both die hard vikings fans when we met. It couldn't have worked out any better! ;)
I am going to post pictures because well...it is a pretty big moment for us :)

Haha after Longwell kicked the field goal to win the game!
Ryan Longwell!
Peterson running in for a touchdown!

Tarvaras Jackson, our QB. I hesitate to even post this picture because of what happened during the beginning of the season, but he has come back and been a huge asset!

Taylor doing what he does best!!

Our boys!!
PS...Christmas pictures soon to come!!

3 things...

1) This was a crazy, crazy weekend for football! Totally hard to do picks with. That being said, I must share a story about Travis :) So, he has been SO excited because at work each week, they do picks for all of the games on Sunday and then the Monday night game. I must admit that I was pretty excited about this too because the pot is for like $200+ each week, just depending on how many people are participating. So, Trav brought the little paper home where he needed to circle the teams that he was going to win and of course we are both looking at it deciding on which teams to go for. He had an attitude like he was going to KNOW all the picks and the money was basically his already, lol. On most of the games we agreed on who would win except for two main ones. I told him that the Colts would win the Ravens and Tampa Bay would win the Panthers. He refused to listen to me and went with the other teams. It was SO much fun rubbing it in his face Sunday when both of the teams I said would win not only won, but dominated! lol This was a really hard week to choose for too though because a LOT of games went unexpected. I doubt he will win the money but we will see. Either way, I still think I got the good end of the stick because I got bragging rights now. He is like the football master, so that made me feel good :)

Second piece of exciting news! Our neighbor asked us the other day if we wanted to go to the UTAH vs. BYU game with him! First I though to myself, self...how much do you think that would cost? and wait...didn't I hear someone say that they were sold out already? THEN he mentioned the important part...that he knew someone who had the "hook up" and we would be going FOR FREE :) How awesome is that?! Good neighbors=good times!

3) FULL HOUSE
This weekend Trav's family came to visit. We had SUCH a full house, holy cow. They came on Saturday and stayed until Sunday so it wasn't too chaotic but still...8 people in our little one bedroom place can be just a little crazy, lol. It was fun though. We got to spend time with his mom, his brother/girlfriend, sister and her two friends. I also spent 5 of those hours in the ER with my sister. She is doing well now but was really, really sick over the weekend. I felt so bad! We're glad she is doing better though! It was kind of nice to get a break from the busyness at my house :)

THE VIKINGS TAKE IT!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 30-27! GOOOOOD JOB BOYS!!! Such a good game!! We needed that so so bad!! Jessica and Travis are now going to bed stoked!

That is all :)

The one about the cute foam cards and the messy house.

Our friends came down from Idaho this weekend to visit. We had a really fun time...with the exception of Mari and I having yucky stomach ache's for some reason on Saturday. It was just kind of one of those days where you lounge around and hang out! Mari's son turns 1 October 19th so she wanted to do his birthday party with kind of a Halloween theme...so we went shopping :)! We went to Michael's and picked out some REALLY cute stuff. For his cards we got some foam sheets (Green, White, Black, Orange, and Purple) and it came in a little kit with 1000 TINY foam letters!! (Try finding all of the letters you need in that box!) It also came with some little foam Halloween cut outs, like witches hats, black cats, trick or treat bags, lollipops, and ghosts. We ended up working on the cards most of the day and had tons of fun doing it!! Each one was very different from the next and I am SO sad to say that I forgot to take a picture because they turned out ADORABLE! Kassi and Tony ended up coming over for dinner and at first they were like..."What are you guys doing?? It is a Saturday night!!" but within 10 minutes...they were doing the same thing! haha. I will make Mari take some pictures and send them to me so I can post them. They really were adorable!

Now, the messy part! Remember said 1000 letters? Yeah, They spilled a few times...and they were stickers so you peeled off the back before you stuck them on the foam. Remember...1000. I think that is all that needs to be said. :)

Sunday was so relaxing!! My boys didnt play so we just watched all of the other games! Thank goodness Green Bay lost! The bears won though...those are really the only 2 in the division we need to worry about. We will play tonight so cross your fingers!!! We NEED a win!!

I cannot believe how much it rained this weekend, so awesome. AND I wore my COAT this morning!! The cold weather is coming. I am not sure I am excited as I thought I was going to be...you know...when it was 100 degrees outside. I think we always want the opposite of what we are in (weather wise) Fall is a really nice time of the year though. The weather is usually perfect. It just seemed REALLY cold this morning!

Anyway, have a fantastic Monday, and week!
