GLITTER TOES!

So, awhile ago a friend from work (thanks Heather :))got "glitter toes" done at the salon that she works at. They looked fabulous!! So fabulous that I decided I would try the "cheap" version of them...meaning I would do "glitter toes" to myself, haha! It actually turned out really cute!!

Can you tell which one was done in a salon, and which one I did?(Double click on the pictures to see a little better)

To me, it's obvious that the purple ones were done in a salon but I still am pretty happy with the outcome of my attempt! I might actually try that purple next, I LOVE that color!!

Incubus!!

I just now realized that I never posted anything about Incubus!!!

Chris, Lacey, Devan, Kelli, Laci, Chaille, David, Shawn, Amber, Travis, and I all went to Incubus last Thursday! It was out at Usana and we had lawn seats! (Trav and I got ours for $10!!!) It was such a good show!! They sounded fantastic! We saw a few people we knew, and Kassi ended up coming out for the second half of it! It was really fun!! I wish I would have taken more pictures...but how many pictures can you take of the stage? They all look exactly the same haha...

Anyways, I did remember to do a couple of pages with the pictures that I was able to get so here you go!

As always, if you click on them, they will show up bigger. (If you check my scrapblog site, these are not new to you.)

The one where the Bean is gone.

I'm sitting at home with Travis the other night, painting my toenails and he is watching The World Without a Moon which I think is rather pointless. We have a moon. We shouldn't worry about what it would be like if we didn't have a moon. Apparently it is slightly interesting to some people Travis though. Actually, apparently anything I think is boring or lame is fascinating to Trav. Possession of the remote control is a battle we face every night. He doesn't seem to like Still Standing, or Rosanne, or Reba...C'mon now...I'm pretty sure that's the good stuff.

Anyway, so we're sitting there, doin our own thing and my phone rings. I answer it and right away my sister says "Jessica, where is Bean? You guys have him don't you. Don't do this to me. I'm freakin out."

"Uhm...hi?" I say back to her, completely confused.

Bean is my cousins dog. Kassi is house/dog sitting while they are on vacation. This call took place the DAY after they left on their week-long vacation.

"Jessica, don't play dumb. I know you guys have him."

Ok...I feel like I am holding someone hostage here...and I feel like I have some sort of an accomplice. I am totally confused.

"haha, I haven't seen Bean! Why would I have him?? You lost him???"

"Yeah, he is gone. I'm looking for him now."

She then calls my Grandma who goes out to help look, no such luck.

Yesterday my Grandma called and informed me that Bean has been found. Yay! I guess this proves true "When the Master is away, the dogs will play." ...crazy little adventure seeking dog.

Boys and Girls. I broke 100 posts today. I think that's pretty awesome.

The post I have to break it with is going to be really lengthy only because I have a TON of pictures I need to upload from this weekend's camping trip, so sit back...grab some popcorn, and be excited! :)

I absolutely LOVE the pictures where everything reflects off of the water! I took this one out in the middle of Teapot lake while we were fishing on the raft.

Trav's first decent sized fish. (The ones we caught in the river were about half that size!) And look how colorful and pretty he/she was!

If you look pretty closely, you can see a really tall tree with something on the top of it! Well my friends, that is an EAGLE NEST!! Not only did we get to see the nest, but we saw a couple eagles flying to and from it all day while we were in the raft!

Ok, so this is just your normal, every day sign, I know...but it means so much more to me. This sign is victory for me. It's bragging rights and therefore, I love it. A few weeks ago, I was talking to my friend at work who was telling me that her husband had gone up to Teapot lake (in the Uinta's) this year and did very, very well...catching fish almost all over a foot long. I then go home and proceed to tell Trav that when we go camping, we need to make a stop at teapot because we pass it everytime and have never tried it out. He looks at me like I'm retarded and says "There is no teapot lake in the Uinta's. You're crazy, and thinking about something else." We argue about it for a minute because I KNOW I am right. Finally I give it up and end on the fact that I will just show him the lake when we're in the mountains. He then comes home the next day from work and says "I checked with everyone at work and no one has heard of a Teapot lake...I have been going to the Uinta's before you were born (according to him, he has experienced a lifetime worth of things "before I was born") and assures me, once again that there is no Teapot lake. I just agree and think to myself this is getting better and better. So we get up into the mountains, go to our spots, get all set up and all that fun stuff and decide to go to the lake. We pass Lilly and Lost lake, which I told him Teapot was right there...and we don't see Teapot for some reason so I get a boatload of crap from him of course. At that point I was kind of confused...I could have sworn it was up there...right by those lakes. So, the next day we decide to go to Mirror Lake which is about 5 miles up the road from our campsite and on the way back...it happened so perfectly. At the same exact time we both noticed something. I notice a sign that says "Teapot Lake" and he notices an unfamiliar body of water. He says to me "Hey, what lake is that?" I look at him with the largest smile ever and pleasantly say "Oh that? That's Teapot Lake."
I win.

Trey went with us and it was his first camping trip ever, he ab.so.lute.ly loved it. He honestly peed on every. single. tree. at our campground, and if you notice at all from the pictures...there are quite a few. He was a busy little boy. This picture however, is one showing what the cruel mosquitoes did to his face!! It got worse that night too :( We felt SO bad. After we noticed, we put some bug spray on him and he was freeeeeeeaking out haha...running around everywhere...chasing the smoke from the fire...rubbing himself on the dirt, just bein crazy...but it worked and in the morning he was much, much better, and less swollen.
*disclaimer- Trey does not have a big head...it just appears that way in this picture because of the massive amounts of mosquito bites on his face. He would appreciate that I include that.*

haha. In this picture, there is a little chipmunk. Again, even though I took PLENTY of pictures this camping trip, I wish I would have had more pictures of this little incident. So, I'm sitting on a chair by the fire, just relaxing and all of a sudden I look up to see this chipmunk on a rock about 20 feet away, eating something. I instantly look at Trey to see if he has noticed yet. I got Travis's attention and we both look over to see Trey move his head back in disbelief and confusion...he has never seen anything like this before. So about .5 seconds after doing that, he gets up and RUNS to the rock to go figure out what this thing is. The chipmunk...probably having done this a time or two before, runs up the tree. Trey hurries and hops up onto the rock and puts his two front paws on the tree, as if he is going to be supertrey and climb it. That obviously wasn't going to happen. So he stood there, and waited. As did the chipmunk, in the tree. Finally Trey got tired and came back over by us to lay down. Sure enough, minutes later, the chipmunk is back down on the rock. Rinse, lather, and repeat. Trey runs back over there...chipmunk runs back up the tree. This happened about 4 times before Trey figured he was going to try and outsmart this little chipmunk. Instead of coming all the way back over to lay by us, he laid closer to the rock, so he didnt have to run as far and so that he could catch this little thing. His plan obviously failed but he is a trooper and played with this little chipmunk for about an hour! haha
It was thundery for a little while but all in all it was perfect weather!! It was still pretty warm when it was thundering, and the thunder was pretty far away, just cool to listen to!

You can kinda see his swollen face here. I just mainly love the crossed legs. They force me to bust out the camera every single time.

We had fun stocking up the fire and cutting wood!

Small view of the sunset!

I saw a deer in our campsite!! So, by the time I went to grab my camera, a car had passed, scaring him so he crossed the street. At first I stood on the other side of the street and took a million pictures of him because I thought it was soo cool to be in that distance of a deer and have him just chill and pose for me (even though all of his poses were the same ;)) Finally I built up the courage to cross the street to get a closer pic and he still stayed there!!! It was so so awesome!

This was before he crossed the street.

Mirror Lake.
We took Trey fishing and I tried to get him to swim and it was the funniest thing ever!! I would tell him, "Trey! Go in the water!" and he would look at me like I was crazy...so finally I had to take my shoes and socks off, roll up my pants, and walk WITH him in the water. At that point, I picked up a rock and threw it just past where the water started to get deep to see if he would take a swim, because he was loving the water and he didn't want any part of that!! lol He would run as fast as he could to the point where the water was about level with his neck then he would turn around and face me and slowly inch backwards. When he could tell that there was a dropoff, he would run back to me. haha. I suppose I will have to teach him how to swim another time.

Fishin till the sun goes down!

Eagle Pass view!

Trial Lake.

Acting like he owned the place...he would do this in between peeing on the trees.

We walked for about a mile down the river, fishing in the good spots. The walk down was so much fun...but the walk up? Not so much. I was able to get some really good pics of the river though, it has random waterfalls in some parts, it was gorgeous!!

Another waterfall.

And a baby one.

and last but definitely not least, one of my favorites :)

The truth comes out when you're drunk.

Trav and I rode the Trax home from the concert last Thursday and wow...there are some interesting people out and about these days. I got nothing else. haha. Except the conversation that took place, I'll put that below.

So Trav and I are sitting across from each other and this lady stumbles onto the Trax, realizing there is nowhere to sit, so she stands. I wish I would have snuck in a picture because her stance was my absolute favorite haha...how do I explain it? ...picture her two feet spread fairly far apart, and by fairly...I mean they were well past the outside of her shoulders. I hope that makes sense. Basically, she was trying as hard as she could to endure the bumpy ride standing up. Finally, she looks at Travis and says...Can I sit? Trav says Yeah...you look like you need to. So she sits. Across from me. :)

I'm sitting there, minding my own business and all the sudden I get a tap on the leg.

"Yeah?"

The lady then says (with no hi, or introduction) "He's leaving me. We went to a concert tonight and he met younger girls and he is leaving me. He only wants to go home and go to bed with me (insert inappropriate arm movements here) (also, insert my, probably priceless, confused, trying so hard not to laugh my ass off, blown away face here...) And I live with him. He left me for an hour tonight and I just drank. I have been drinking. He left for an hour. He left with girls. He is leaving me. It's because he is younger. I am FOURTY-TWO and he is 32. He is ten years younger and wants someone younger. But he is leaving ."

"III'm...sorry...to hear that. Are you going home now?"

"Yes, he lives with me. He only wants to go to sleep." (By this time, dude is looking at me, watching her talk crap about him. So much fun.)

"Oh, well I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things work out for you."

Next was a bunch of her talking and slurring and me just nodding and smiling because I couldnt understand her.

I look away and again I get a tap on the leg.

"Yeah?"

"I spent $130 on my hair today, for him. $130." (Man I wish I had pictures of her face through all of this hahaha...it was so great.)

"Wow, well it looks really nice!"

"Yeah! Your hair looks like mine did before I got it done." (Insert cringe and nasty look here.)

"haha, yeah...I guess I need to get mine done."

But seriously? Did she just say that? I know my hair is a tad grown out, but I didn't think it would take a drunk lady on a Trax informing me of this to get me to go in and get it done again! lol

Bon Iver and Jenny Lewis

Last night Trav and I went to the Gallivan center to see Bon Iver and Jenny Lewis. Oh man. It was such a great show to kickstart the summer and prepare me for the fantastic bands I am uber excited to see! Jenny Lewis is just adorable and has a fantastic voice, while Bon Iver. Man. I love 'em. Justin puts SO much emotion in, you know he truly loves singing/songwriting. Plus it was a free concert. That just validates that fact.

Here is a video I was able to get of Skinny Love. I wasnt trying to aim the whole time, just mainly wanted the audio... I couldnt get the video to upload in the blogger video thing, so is a great video someone else got :) I should have just recorded the entire thing. It was a great show! I'll post some pics as well :)

I didn't take this video, but this is amazing. The entire crowd was singing. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures.
We had a side view the whole time but it was fantastic because it was really, really close and he played to the side for a part of the show anyway, so it was great!

haha so awesome. Justin pointed out the people accross the street, watching from on top of a building!

AND in a parking garage!

There were also plenty of people up close watching.

Jenny doing what she does best.

Adorable.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Hope everyone had a fantastic 4th!! We definitely did :) We kinda relaxed at home all day...Shawn (Trav's brother) was over here for a bit with 250 CD's so we basically had the greatest music exchange party to date.

Then I made lunch.

Then we cleaned the house and ourselves up a little and went over to my Grandma and Grandpa's house for a BBQ. It was delicious. Alexis's dog was licking my toe, however...which was not delicious.

After we ate, we went downstairs so I could show everyone how to play tetris attack. Then I got sick of winning so we went back upstairs, hung out for a minute and we were on our way to my favorite place ever!! Sugarhouse Park for fireworks! I love the 4th of July for that reason!

Trav and I have gone the past 3 years but I have to say that this year was one of my favorites! We had a PERFECT spot! Right by the water, where the fireworks would reflect off of the little pond/lake. It was so pretty! We also had a fantastic view of the fireworks!

Here are a few pictures!

These ones are my favorite!

So, it was about the middle of the show and all of a sudden we hear a LOUD noise...it sounded like a chain saw...or a motorcycle...or a lawn mower, we couldn't decide but it was super loud and super annoying. We kind of ignore it, thinking it would go away...but no. It didn't, it was headache city for a solid 5 minutes...which is frustrating. People come to listen to the music, listen to the fireworks, and enjoy the show...not listen to this...sound. After about 5 minutes I sit up and look around thinking what the hell is this noise!! I sit up only to find a group of kids WITH THEIR PARENTS and a stupid remote control motor boat...really? Genius. About the same time I sat up, so did a ton of other people...and all at once the crowd (in our area at first, but then spread to about half of the park, lol) started screaming "TURN OFF YOUR BOAT!!!" It took not only that but someone physically getting up and asking them to turn it off! What jerks! Who does that?

So, I took this picture and thought something was REALLY wrong with my camera!! Come to find out...the little dots you see all over are DUST PARTICLES!! EW!! I had no idea...that is horrible...learn something new everyday!

We made the best slushie in the world.

Love ya babe!

Look at all of those people!!!

I just thought this would be a cool pic :)

Port-a-potties. Good to know. Even though I would hold it for 38947862 hours before using a port-a-pottie.

People ALL over!

And again...

Funny story...after the fireworks end, everyone always picks up their blanket/chairs and RUN to their cars so they can beat the traffic...well, there is a pretty big intersection that most people have to cross in order to get to their cars (1300 E/2100 S) Well, we happened to make it to the intersection before the police did (along with 10,000 other people!!) It was the funniest thing ever...NO organization at all...and since there was probably 100 to 1 with people vs. cars on the road...the people had control! Everyone was just scattering all over the streets, crossing roads...basically STOPPING the cars. That part really isn't too funny...kind of frustrating...but just insane that there was that many people!! The funny part is there was ONE car....one little, red car...in the middle of the intersection, stuck. hahaha, people were COMPLETELY surrounding the little car so it could go nowhere! Oh, and who came to the rescue? That's right..one cop. He must have loved his job at that moment.

It's kind of hard to tell but this is a LINE to get INTO the gas station. Not to purchase your items, but just to get in to LOOK for said items!

Happy 4th everyone :)
