Trip To Wendover!

We went to Wendover the weekend before my *Grandma's surgery. It was a nice, little getaway! What we came home with was even nicer, though!! Check out the pics :)

Auntie Tammy drove, Grandma played the "frontseat, backseat driver." Kass, Auntie Krisine, and I all sat in back and played as the actual "backseat driver's" Auntie Tammy must have loved it! ;) Who could ever be so lucky?! Other than that, we kept ourselves occupied by *games that every road tripping individual should be aware of.

*"Snaps" is or is not the name of the game, ABC--Movie Game, and I'm going on a picnic and I'm bringing...game. Google these if you have time, they are worth it!

I'm just now realizing that most of these pictures were taken while in the car and most likely driving. :S. Don't try that at home, kids. That's a bad example.

TA-DAH!! This is what Auntie Kristine and I brought home! Poker was good to us that particular weekend :)...Next time I'll have to take "how to hold money and not look like a retard" tips from Auntie Kristine before we attempt a picture. I promise I'll work on it. For now, please ignore my oddly shaped fingers.

I'm sure you know already if you've been reading my blog for awhile but if not, I love poker and play every once in awhile in the Wasatch Poker Tournaments. Basically what happens is they have a game almost every night and if you win in the top 9 places (usually out of 80-100 players) you get points. Every quarter, there is a MAIN tournament (100 players) where you must qualify (by getting enough points throughout the quarter) to play in. I have played in two of these tournaments thus far. Last time I, unfortunately, took 9th. They paid the top 8. This time however, I took it down. I took first place and my prize was....

ready??...

It was 500 bucks!!! :)

It was basically the greatest day ever.

This might only be funny to Trav and I...

But today he was asking me if I had any chapstick. I told him that I'm not sure where, but somewhere I have my Shaka Laka (the only kind of chapstick I have that is actually chapstick, not lip gloss) He then proceeds to say "I don't need no Shaka Laka, I need chip stack."

Final Poker Tournament

This will be my 4th post today of things which all happend this weekend!! Definitely proof of this post.

I enjoy playing poker and it is something I do every once in awhile. I play for an organization called "Wasatch front Poker Tour" and every quarter (3 months) they have an "invite only" final tournament where you can only play if you have done well over the 3 month period and built up enough points to be able to play.

I participated in the final tournament this last Saturday.

There were 90 total people who were playing, the top 8 would be payed. 1st place would get $900. I would have obviously loved to come in any place in the top 8! Eigth place paid out $60. (It is a $5 buy in tournament) HOWEVER, I placed 10th. That is something we call the "bubble" basically I came SO, SO, SO close, but not close enough to make the money. It is a good thing, that I made it to the final table out of that many people, but to go that far, and all for nothing, was kind of lame.

Oh well though, there is always next quarter.
