Our new place!

aka- one of the *many* things that's been keeping us busy, busy!

After lots of driving and searching and looking and meeting and talking and deciding, we've finally found the perfect little home!

We've been here for about a week now so some things (thesparebedroommightstillbefullofboxes) still need to be done, but I can finally say the hardest part is over!! WOOHOO!!

So, of course you're wondering...what are the "goods"?

Well I'll clear that up for ya. Because I would hate for you to sit and wonder.

We now have two bedrooms.
We now have a yard.
Every room is roomier than our previous place.
I. Have. A. Garden.
I also have an area to be creative with and plant flowers.
We have the coolest little yard, setback from the street.
Our neighbors have a portable fire pit thingy and fires with neighbors from all over is a weekend norm.
We live in Sandy. =Cute neighborhood. =Close to family.
I am so so so much closer to Target.
Plus lots more. We are so stoked!!

Here are some pictures. Remember...I'm not completely done with the place, but here's what we're excited about, so far.

One of the biggest reasons we moved is because we really needed a yard. Trey needed a yard. Summer is coming. We wanted a place to sit and relax and enjoy the nice weather! (Although it has rained every day since we've had our yard..but that's another story for another day.) And well, we just really, really wanted a yard. So, when we first started moving our stuff in, the first thing we discussed was how soon we'd be able to afford a BBQ!! We decided we'd both save and get one as soon as possible! This was a must!!

Little did we know, almost at the exact moment we were talking about buying one, my wonderful family was shopping for one!!

My Grandma called me on Tuesday and said her and my Aunt were going to come by and hang out for a bit. I thought nothing of it.

An hour passed and still no Grandma.

I auto assume she's picking out some flowers for me, and some rad gardening stuff since she knew I was pretty excited about starting that up.

Finally we get a call and it's Grandma telling us to come out front and "help carry in some flowers."

I was spot on. Or so I thought!

I went straight to the back, and popped open the hatch only to find a. freekin. barbecue!!

I was so confused because I was totally expecting flowers, not this beauty!!

The first thing that came out was "For Real???" I think at that point I still thought there were flowers inside, or maybe it was stuffed with garden shovels and the works. Needless to say, it was one of the best surprises ever!! We love it!!!! Thank you so so so so so so so much guys!! :) Now we'll work on a table and some chairs and some cute lights and tiki torches! The list goes on and on!

Here are a couple pictures of our *outside* area! We love the carport thingy, and look at the view from our front door!! It's sooo nice to not be right on the street!! It's so peaceful!

Here is where I slightly brag about my flowers. I. Actually. Got. Them. To. Bloom!!! Somewhere, somehow, something was done right!! So sweet!!

Kitchen, Bedroom, and the only sliver of the laundry room I'm willing to expose at this moment.

Lots of shots of the living room. I love how it turned out!

Random bits...

Lately there hasn't been much going on...but just to have SOME sort of update for you (and me--when I look back and wonder why I was slacking so much) I'll ramble for a sec..

Still planning our trip to Vegas! It's coming up in TWO weekends! Holy cow, it seemed like suuuch a long ways away! We're all so excited though!!

We've decided we want to move (again, I know) somtime towards the end of March. Our lease is/was up in February and we just really want a bigger place! Since we're pretty content where we're at and the only reason we're moving is because we want a bigger place, I've been pretty picky so it may take a little longer to find a place! It's exciting though, I'm probably one in 100 but I LOVE un-packing and re-decorating so look forward to pictures in the (I was going to say near but we'll skip that) future.

Saturday we went to see Shutter Island and I'm not quite sure what to say about it. All I know is I was loving the movie throughout, and I was so excited to see the ending/conclusion. I'd never read the book and only seen the previews for the movie so I had NO idea. I wasn't all too thrilled with the ending though. It could be the blonde in me but it was super confusing! I didn't absolutely hate it though, and I'm considering seeing it again...just to process it all. Has anyone seen it? What did you think?!

On a similar note, we bought a PS3 about a week ago. This means two things...
1) Less time for cleaning and important stuff.
2) Travis will never let us watch another DVD again. (He's obsessed)
That being said, we drove about 5 miles (out of the way) yesterday to a Blockbuster that had Couples Retreat in Blu-ray and watched that last night. We absolutely LOVED it! It was hilarious! We love Vince Vaughn, so we knew it'd be a good one.

Anyway, I think that's about it :)

Happy Monday everyone, hope you have a fabulous week!

I'm sore.

...and it's all because of this little console of magnificence.

It's worth being sore. Definitely. I'm excited about you little Wii.

Saturday I randomly decided I wanted a Wii so I called the Wal-Mart by my house to see how much they were and they informed me that they were sold out.

No big deal, I thought. I'll just call the one right up the street.

They were sold out as well. Apparently everyone decided they wanted a Wii on Saturday night too. Or, maybe it was because they were on sale.

I finally found a store that had THREE left. I informed the lady I was coming from about 15 or 20 minutes away and asked if she thought there would be one there when I got there, or if they were going pretty fast...

She said they were selling about 12 an hour.

Crazy.

We still decided to go out in the blizzard and at least give it a shot.

One hour later, we were driving home, with the goods.

Wordle.

Thanks to a lovely lady, Jacquie, I have come accross this wordle thing and quite like it. I'm not sure I will like it as much if the word "like" keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'm going to need to quit that.

Anyway, check it out...it is on the right, in the sidebar, under the comments hint that everyone ignores. ;) I know it is small, but if you click on it, it will get bigger. (What it does is it takes all of the words in my blog and the more I use them, the bigger they become!)

I think it will look a lot cooler if it clearly said woot. So, I might have to cheat a little ;) just to test it out.

woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot woot

Most Random Post Award nominee

New setup!! I finally have a computer desk now! Previously it was laptop on the legs and printer in the room, on the dresser. I'm kinda liking this. It is definitely going to give me a reason to start scrapbooking a little bit more than I do!!

Last night Katie had her Spring Recital. (Dance performance) Afterwards, we all decided to go out to eat and Alexis was so kind to model this adorable mini wine glass of Italian dressing. Precious.
Alexis eating some delicious chee soup.

This is how the weather has been lately...basically the last few weeks and honestly, I couldn't be happier! I am not excited for the sun to show himself. This is so much nicer, and the smell of rain is one of the greatest thing. in the world.

Last but CERTAINLY not least. Um, it's friday! On three, can I get a WOOT WOOT!?!

All at once

Here's the thing. I try to be as diligent as possible at posting at least twice a week but you know what...lately NOTHING has come up. I guess I could still write a post saying "Hi, thanks for taking time out of your day to type in my really long blog address only to find this update letting you know that the blog still exists, I lead a pretty uneventful life and, I am still alive and well. Have a fantastic day."

That would be good. It would count as posts, right? (I'm not going to lie...hitting 50 posts was a pretty fantastic thing for me :))

Anyway, the all at once thing. So uh...I'm going to admit to something that in my head makes me feel like a total blogger nerd but um...here's to hoping I'm not the only one doing this. Most Some days I hope for things to happen in which I can later blog about. See, I most definitely look out for my readers. I love reading blogs so I know the feeling of going to a blog and seeing something new to read, almost daily. So, I try to return the favor!

The hard part? Nothing ever seems to come up! And, finally, when something(s) come up...it is all at once. In one day. So, then...here I am writing a novel every other week, instead of spread out, more frequent posts. *Note to future life occurrences- - please spread yourself out. I have a blog to keep up with. Thanks, bye.*

. . .

Yesterday, I added something new to my life and I feel like everyone should know about it because um, besides this picture...

It is my favorite thing right now.

Ready for it?

*Insert Drum-Roll*

BAM!! Here she is. Lookin' all cute n' stuff. My life will never be the same. I am so, super excited!! I have never had a phone with more than 5 options so, this is a pretty exciting thing. I probably wont be a blackberry expert for a few days but, it will come. I know it will.

Another fantastic thing is my sister has the same phone so she can help me along the way. In doing just that, yesterday she messaged me and said "Go into bb messenger and press sym sym twice. You will love it" Sounds easy enough, right? So, I go into bb messenger, curious to find yet another thing I love about my phone and I type s y m s y m. Hm..nothing. Kassi doesn't know what she is talking about. I then put my phone down and go back to what I was doing. Later that night, I am looking at the different buttons on my phone and come across one that says "SYM" apparently Kassi did know what she was talking about and I am a freekin idiot for actually typing symsym into blackberry messenger. It actually brings up a myriad of SMILEY FACES :)

In other news because, you know, the blog God's knew I was going to write about my phone so they figured hey...let's throw something else in for her to write about as well. After all, she hasn't posted forever. Yesterday I left work at 5 and had to run home real quick to get my debit card and be back to work by 5:30. During rush hour. Normally it is possible, but not when everyone decides that 5 is a good time to leave work. Anyway, I get to my house at about 5:20, run inside while thinking to myself...Okay...debit card, where are you? Oh ya, it is in the pocket of the jacket I wore yesterday. Sweet. I check the pocket and there is no debit card. Okay, um...OH, it is in the pants that I wore yesterday, I remember because I stopped at the store after work and instead of putting it back where it belongs, I put it into my pants pocket. I go into my room and look for the pants that I wore yesterday. They are not there. Wanna know why? BECAUSE I DIDNT GO STRAIGHT HOME AFTER WORK. I WENT TO MY GRANDMA'S HOUSE AND WANTED TO BE COMEFORTABLE SO I TOOK SAID PANTS OFF AND CHANGED INTO SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE AND PUT SAID PANTS IN BACK OF MY CAR. That's right. That whole trip home, in the horrible, annoying traffic, while I was in a hurry, all to get my debit card, was pointless as it was in the back seat of my car the entire time.

Love it.

How do they do it?

So we just got cable/internet/phone hooked up through Comcast. I cannot tell you how excited we are about it. At first I was just excited to not go through DirecTv anymore...which is a WHOLE different story that is very long so I will just give you the moral of the story. DO. NOT. GO. THROUGH. DIRECTV. No matter what they offer you. Sometimes it is free gas, sometimes it is first 3 months for free, sometimes it's pretty words to tell you you are getting the best possible deal! Whatever it is, NOT worth it. (This answers the question to the title of the post! They BEG and BRIBE their customers!)

Anyway, back to Comcast. They come to install the cable yesterday (We've had internet and phone through them for a couple of weeks now) and Trav and I were just messin with it when we got home last night. Turns out 1) They provide HD, for free. Which by the way Trav is obsessed with. I wont talk about the 2 hours he spent flipping from one channel in HD to another that was NOT in HD saying Babe! Look at the difference, can't you tell?? OH man, I can't believe we have gone all this time without this! Wow, look at the floor on this one, then on this one! Look at his face on this one, then on this one. Haha, good times. 2) They have DVR service, which is one of the main reasons I initially went with DirecTv. I had NO idea Comcast had that as well! 3) They have on demand so you can basically watch a movie whenever you would like to. You can watch MUSIC VIDEOs and hook it up to the stereo so it sounds and looks great. We love and watch intervention all of the time and guess what?! It is on demand! Anytime we want to watch intervention, BAM...it is waiting for us on channel 1! 4) It is cheaper than DirecTv and you get more channels. 5) They have NO contracts at all and no installation fees but they still have promotions going all of the time because I think they love and really care about their customers! 6) and maybe my favorite feature, we have freekin karaoke on our TV!!! Singing party at my house soon to come!

We are so excited, haha probably too excited for just a silly cable switch. If anyone is thinking about which company to get their cable/satellite through, we would definitely suggest Comcast. :)

p.s. Comcast, if you read this post...I think you should pay me a little. I just TOTALLY sold your service!
