A good excuse/THANKFUL for....
We'd been home from Price for like 20 minutes so at the time, Trav was doing the dishes and I was about to start laundry, then blog. This being the "Good Excuse." I called the power company and they said it was estimated to be off until 9:30! (It was 5:30 at the time) The first thing I do is look at Travis and ask what we were going to do for dinner now (knowing in my head that the reason I'm asking the question is because I already know we can't cook anything) and he says "I don't know, we won't be able to cook anything though." I reply with a nice little "Way to go, Captain Obvious!" He laughed and then said he was just telling me that because I was asking what we would do for dinner. Um, duh...

So very thankful for.....
My football team! The Vikings have definitely struggled in the past, in fact in previous years where we were like 5-4...we were doing pretty well. THIS year, however, things have changed! We have a great quarterback (Favre) who has done an exceptional job this year! The other great thing is it's not even all owed to Favre...THE ENTIRE TEAM HAS BEEN FANTASTIC this year!! :) I've very much enjoyed watching all of the games, and I'm so happy about the 9-1 record!! WOOT!! Go Vikes!!
(P.S. Sorry, I skipped a few "I'm thankful for..." posts because we were up in Price, Utah visiting Trav's family. I'll catch up soon, promise!)

Busy weekend!!
This weekend we had some family come up (down?) from Alabama so Saturday night we all went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house and I made some delicious chicken enchiladas! There were like 6 of us in the kitchen cooking so we had the enchiladas, a green salad, a fruit salad, spanish rice, garlic bread, and a cake!! It was yummy!! After dinner we enjoyed some live music from the Nay Family Band (Our cousins/Aunt/Uncle) for a little over an hour and then we played some games! We played Scattegories, Apples to Apples, and a hilarious game with no name. At one point we were all laughing so hard we were crying and sniffling! Grandma ended up bringing in a tissue box and putting it in the middle of the table for us all to share. We all had a fantastic time and can't wait until the next time we get to hang out and play games together!
Trav spent the majority of the weekend over at his Grandma's doing finishing touches on the roof so I watched most of the game by myself at home. Kassi came over about halfway through and finished it with me. In the beginning I thought we had it made!! Two touchdowns in the first half, we were drivin it like crazy, Ravens couldn't do anything! It was awesome! Then after the half things went downhill!! Thank God we had enough of a lead to stay safe!! The last two seconds of the game depended on a field goal that the Ravens kicked. If they were to make it, they would have won by a point!! It was so intense!!! They missed it though, that's all that matters! So now, SIX and 0 for my boys!!!! They have not been 6-0 since 2003! This has been an awesome year so far! I'm so excited to watch them play their game each week, such a fun team! I suggest everyone jumps on the Vikings bandwagon right now. This shall be the year.
After the game Trey and I went to the park. I've been wanting to take pictures of the trees down here for a couple of weeks now! The seasons are changing and it is beautiful everywhere right now. Trey's also wanted to go to the park for a few weeks (I'm assuming) so it was a win-win situation!!

Awesome things about the weekend...
1)Trav is a genius- Last week at work he was shown a really small picture printed from the internet of a cart that they wanted him to attempt to build/weld. Apparently if you outright buy one it costs around 800 bucks so instead of spend the money, the company wanted to see if they could use the resources and genius men in the shop to build a cheaper one..so they asked Travis to do it. :) He finished it on Friday and his boss absolutely loved it! He was very impressed. Not only that, but his boss's boss (Owner of the company) was very impressed as well. The engineers said it would be perfect for hauling the pipe and that it would definitely work in place of the 800dollar one so Trav's boss asked him to write out step by step everything he did. How much everything measures out to be and everything so they can start making more of them! Good job babe!!
2) Vikings now 5-0!!! Need I say more?? Next week we play the Ravens, then the Steelers, THEN the Packers again...this time NOT in Minnesota...so I can't get too excited! Big, important, tough games coming up...but for right now, I'm pretty proud of my team!!
and...
3) My wishes came true! Alright, so if you read my Updates! post, you know how I feel about haunted houses. You also know that this weekend we were planning on going to the Haunted Hollow in Ogden. Well, everyone met up at our house and we didn't end up getting ready to leave until around 9:00 so Trav and I didn't really wanna drive all the way up to Ogden, wait in line for an hour in the freezing cold, and then drive almost an hour to get home after the Haunted Hollow so we decided to go another time and we went to the Crazy Corn Maze instead. It ended up being really fun! They had two different things going on. There was a corn maze that you start out with and then at the end, a Haunted mazeish thing. Before you go into the Corn Maze, they give you a map with numbers on it and then they give you a quiz and that's apparently how you are supposed to navigate through the whole thing. At first we didn't really get it so we just kind of navigated ourselves. We ran into someone who worked there and asked if we were on track. "To number 4?" he says..."Uhh..sure. Yeah. To number 4." Sweet. We're pretty good at this navigating on our own thing. Almost halfway through, without answering any questions, lol. "Yeah, number 4 is just right up there." So, we get up there and look at the question for number 4. The statement was this: Halloween is considrered the third biggest party day in the United States with first and second being New Years Eve and the Fourth of July. I thought it was True and Travis thought it was False. The map said if you think it's true, turn right and if you think it's false, turn left. We, of course, did what I thought we should do...and got lost haha...so we had to backtrack all the way that we'd just come and then go the opposite direction at that sign again. We had a good time though, and eventually...frozen fingers, faces, and all made our way out. The entire time we were in the corn maze we could hear people screaming as the Chainsaw Man was chasing them. This of course has me all worked up so by the end of the corn maze, I start trying to convince Travis that it's too cold and that we really don't need to go to the Haunted portion of it. He knew why I didn't want to and said we are going to it no matter what and we'll be just fine because they can't touch you. So, then I start convincing myself that ok, we'll be alright...I also tried to convince myself that maybe he will run out of gas RIGHT when we get to him and I won't even have to worry about it! Travis laughed at that idea and said there is no way that would happen. (I know, he's a real comforter!) Well guess what?! We get to this crazy man and I start to get sick to my stomach because the chainsaw is going and people are screaming and we are next to pass him and no matter how many times I switched Travis places, the chainsaw man looked like he was still going to be on my side and then it happened...he either 1) accidentally killed the chainsaw or 2) IT RAN OUT OF GAS!! Travis started laughing and I, relieved as I think I will ever be, didn't even take a moment to celebrate. I knew he would have it on soon enough, somehow so I pulled Travis through and ran almost as fast as I could to get away from him before he figured it out! THEN, after we were clear, all you could hear in the Haunted house at that point was me and the two girls in front of us, also with their laughing men saying over and over...THANK GOD HE RAN OUT OF GAS!!! I'm hoping this happens at each Haunted House/Forrest/Hollow we visit this year!! It's nice because you still build up adrenaline, but you don't almost pee your pants when it's your turn to pass. That's always a plus.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

Minnesota Vikings, Favre, 49ers, and Dad's recap.
Alright, again this is a post where I wish MORE THAN ANYTHING in the world that you could hear audio. Remember the post where I thought I had the funniest grandparents in the world? Well, I've now come to realize that it definitely runs in the family. Most definitely.
So, you probably know this already but we are very, very, very excited about football season and watching our boys (Minnesota Vikings) play. We watch the games every single Sunday/Monday. No matter what.
This Sunday, my phone was dead so before the game, I plugged it into the charger and we left to go watch the game. Which...I'm not even going to talk about the game because I think you will get a pretty good, detailed explanation from my Dad.
We come home and I check my phone and it says I have FIFTEEN unheard messages. Yeah. 15 of them. I thought for SURE something was wrong with my phone. I thought maybe all of the messages were coming through from the weekend, or something. I don't think I've ever had that many messages at once!!
Anyway, so Kass, Trav, and I are all standing there, wondering who these messages were all from so I call my voicemail and put in on speakerphone.
The first one comes and it's my Dad. It's a little after half time and the 49ers (his team) scored the SECOND before the half so they are up by one and he is calling to inform me that his team is up on my team.
**Keep in mind that we have JUST come back from watching this fantastic game and we already know the end result. The end result was one of the greatest things that could have ever happened. So, we are sitting there laughing at how happy Dad is throughout the majority of the messages because we know (assuming all 15 messages are from him) that the last message he leaves is going to be epic. We know that the last message he leaves is going to include the update from the last two seconds of the game. It will be the message where he finds out that Favre makes an amazing pass and Minnesota wins the game. Yeah, we know his tone change in that one is going to be worth a million bucks.**
So...we continue to listen. And yes, all 15 were from my dad. Re-capping the entire second half basically. Since I can't figure out a way to get the audio on here, I will only do the last...and more important ones. Here are his messages, word for word.
First message sent Sunday 2:48pm.
*Sounds like the most excited person in the world* (There were 11 other messages with this same tone.)

By the end of the 15th message we were all crying. Dang it! I wish I could put the actual messages on here! SO FUNNY!
*Favorite part...look at the first message. There is enough hahaha's to last a lifetime. Then suddenly, they disappear. Just that quick.*
It was the BEST game. It's so nice to have a quarterback who can put out under pressure!! Wow. Did anyone else see the magic happen??
Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...
I did the NFL picks (Where you get a list of every NFL game happening that Sunday and Monday and you predict who is going to win the game) through Trav's work last week and I only missed 2 games!! I'm hoping everyone else missed more...Trav said the pot is usually around 200 dollars!! That would be so awesome! Especially since it was only 5 bucks to submit my predictions! Also, especially since I'm the only girl who attempted it. I will hopefully find out today and you know for sure I will post if I am a winner. Total bragging rights. So, hope for another post from me regarding this, until then...sitting. waiting. wishing.
